Tija ("Tija", "we", "us") helps businesses create an online store, collect their own payments, and get found on Google and AI search. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights over it. It applies to tija.me, all `*.tija.me` stores, and our WhatsApp onboarding.
Who we are
Tija is operated from Nigeria and serves businesses in Nigeria and internationally. For privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].
Information we collect
- Account & business details you give us: your name, WhatsApp number, email, business name, location, and the products, descriptions, prices, and photos you provide to build your store.
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp during onboarding and support, processed to build and manage your store.
- Usage data: basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how stores and pages are used (for performance and visibility reporting).
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment provider (Flutterwave) into your own account. We do not collect or store card numbers. We keep records of subscription status and transaction references.
How we use your information
- To create, host, and manage your store and dashboard.
- To communicate with you over WhatsApp and email about your store, onboarding, billing, and support.
- To measure and report your visibility (search indexing, AI-search mentions).
- To operate the referral program and calculate rewards.
- To keep Tija secure and comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers we share data with
We share the minimum data needed with trusted processors that run Tija: Supabase (database/hosting), Vercel (application hosting), Flutterwave (payments), Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform (messaging), and AI providers (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic) used only to generate store content. Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.
WhatsApp & Meta
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform to onboard and support you. Messages you send are processed to build and manage your store and are subject to WhatsApp's and Meta's terms in addition to this policy.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and lightweight analytics to run the site and measure visits. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights (NDPR & international)
You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Nigerian users are protected under the NDPR/NDPA; users elsewhere have the rights granted by their local law. To exercise any right, contact [email protected] or see our Data Deletion page. We honour verified requests promptly.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data except where we must retain records by law.
Children
Tija is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date below reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated to you.
